A Call For Help

Hi, Mr. President or to whom it may concern.

How are things? I understand that you are having a really hard time trying to deal with issues left and right and believe me, things are really not going to be easy.

I just want to talk to you about the recent news about the West Philippine Sea. I have read that China is already taking advantage of our resources there and they have already claimed land. I have also seen images of their military trying to farm and set up camp. From the name, I think the West Philippine Sea is owned by the Philippines, by the Filipinos.

There have been issues that we are skirting over the issue and that we are avoiding war against China. That is really diplomatic.

Would it be possible to request urgent action for this matter? I know that there are other issues and concerns that can come up but this is our country’s territory. Heroes died and people pit themselves against invaders to save the major population from foreigners claiming that they own what’s rightfully ours.

The Philippines is rich with natural resources, the bodies of water to boot. If we are to let this thing go and just let a foreign country to take over the West Philippine Sea, other countries or nationalities might think that we are a country of pushovers and that they can just come in, set sail and establish a military base on our waters.

For the United Nations, I do understand that we are following protocol and the laws that are laid for all countries to follow. North Korea has been a stubborn child and we do understand that things aren’t going to change anytime soon. Are the leaders of other countries seeing the dilemma here? We have been following the international law for the longest time and all those summits won’t mean anything if rules are just a group of words that are to be read and not be practiced or followed.

We do hope, crossing our fingers, that this matter would be addressed the soonest. The West Philippine Sea is not for sale, not for lease or even up for grabs. The Philippines owns the rights to the body of water being discussed and it’s like everyone is just a spectator, waiting for something grave to happen before we take action.

China has been known to exploit resources and for pollution. With the rate climate change has affected the planet, wouldn’t it be reasonable to take this as a wake-up call that this is just another attempt to exploit, pollute and bully their way to people and countries that wouldn’t take action. We have advanced technology, we are not cavemen, barbaric people used to walk on someone’s land and claim it as their own.

We have rules, we have been developing laws and we just want people to follow it and the governing bodies to enforce it.
